Admission Criteria

AN APPLICANT FOR ADMISSION TO THE FIRST YEAR B.SC. NURSING COURSE SHALL

BE PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY FIT FOR ADMISSION

MINIMUM EDUCATION ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR ADMISSION TO GNM

FOR FOREIGN NATIONALS

The entry qualification equivalency i.e., 12th standard will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. Institution the State Nursing Council will be responsible for ensuring that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

RESERVATION

For disabled candidates: A 3% disability reservation will be considered for those with a locomotor disability of 40% to 50% of the lower extremity. Other eligibility criteria about age and qualification will be the same as prescribed for each nursing program.

Note: A committee is to be formed consisting of a medical officer authorized by the medical board of state government and a nursing expert in the panel which may decide whether the candidates have a disability of locomotor of 40% to 50%.

5% of total marks is relaxed for SC/ST candidates

Any other reservation as per the State Govt.

Note: Reservations are applicable within the sanctioned number of seats by INC and not above it. Students are admitted once a year.

Students shall be medically fit.

The minimum age for admission is 17 years. (as of 31st December of that year) The upper age limit is 35 yrs. For ANM/LHV, there is no age bar.
